Library Board
The Pendleton Library Board (Ordinance No. 3368) consists of seven members appointed by the Mayor and Council, as well as three ex-officio members. Members of the Pendleton Library Board serve four-year terms, expiring in June each year.
The Library Board is charged with providing recommendations to the City Council about suitable policies, rules, and regulations for a general program of libraries for the community. and to assist the Library Director in identifying and prioritizing budget needs in preparation of the annual budget. In addition, the Library Board members are expected to participate in planning for library facilities; review an annual report to the State Library; keep informed about current trends in library services and administration; and study library growth and needs in Pendleton and develop long-range plans for library service and facilities, consistent with City priorities and with State, regional, and national goals pertinent to libraries.
