The City of Pendleton has been a vibrant and active community since its founding in 1880. Pendleton has a rich heritage and a lively history built on a pioneer spirit. From the original Pendleton Woolen Mills to the world famous Pendleton Round-Up, we keep our history alive while still looking to the horizon for the next opportunity. Government
The City of Pendleton operates on a Council-Manager form of government. The Pendleton City Council forms city policy, sets the annual budget and appoints members to citizen advisory boards and commissions. The City Council also hires and evaluates the City Manager, an administrative professional who oversees day-to-day administrative operations.
City Seal
Although the City is widely associated with the bucking horse logo of the Pendleton Round-Up, the city’s seal highlights the original economic industries of Pendleton: wheat and wool. You can find the City Seal around Pendleton from City Hall to Brownfield Park.
