Building Inspector I or II

The City of Pendleton is accepting applications to fill a Building Inspector position. Building Inspector I requires Oregon Specialty Code Certifications in Residential Structural, Residential Plans Examiner, and Residential Mechanical within 6 months of hire; whereas a Building Inspector II requires an Oregon Inspector Certification (OIC) and Building Inspector I Certifications (Manufactured Home Inspector, Residential Structural, Residential Plans Examiner) AND at least 3 of the following additional certifications (1. Commercial Structural, 2. Commercial Mechanical, 3. Commercial Plans, 4. Fire/Life Safety Plan, 5. Commercial Plumbing, 6. Commercial Electrical) at hire.  Both require a high school diploma or GED supplemented by 2 years of post-secondary college or technical instruction in building technology, construction management, mechanical, plumbing or building inspection plus 4 years’ experience in general construction or related fields; OR satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.  Salary range encompassing both types is $5,001-$6,965 DOQ with the ability to go higher, depending on certifications held.
