For Conflict/Special Prosecution Services Contract in Pendleton Municipal Court

Issued:  February 5, 2021

Proposals Due:  March 1, 2021

The City of Pendleton requests proposals from qualified members of the Oregon State Bar for part-time legal services to the City of Pendleton for the prosecution of misdemeanor criminal cases when the current prosecuting attorney may have a conflict in Municipal Court.   Experience in a criminal prosecution is preferred.

Duties will include all aspects of prosecution of misdemeanors, including occasional attendance at court sessions on Monday mornings, Wednesday mornings, and/or Wednesday afternoons, with some flexibility.

The City will pay $100/hour for services.  It is estimated the conflict/special prosecutor will spend up to10 hours each week reviewing cases, preparing plea offers, and attending court appearances.  In the event a trial takes place, additional hours will be required.  The City expects to enter into a contract with the successful proposer beginning March 8, 2021, through June 30, 2022.

Proposals should include at least the following:

            1. Name and OSB number of the attorney who will be providing services under the contract;

            2. A brief summary of attorney experience in misdemeanor matters and prosecution;

            3. A profile of attorney’s present legal practice and scheduling availability;
