Bisnett Building

Christian Science Building

The City of Pendleton is offering a beautiful historic building in downtown Pendleton to the individual or organization with the best proposal for the building’s re-use. Built in 1926, the building was donated to the City by the Bisnett family of Pendleton. The family had purchased the building thirty years earlier from the original owner, the Christian Science Church of Pendleton. You can read about the history of the building and the city's involvement in the feedback press release.

The building is located on the banks of the Umatilla River, across Main Street from the Pendleton Center for the Arts, which also occupies a splendid historic building, a former Carnegie library. Immediate neighbors of the building include a bank and the office buildings of a finance company and an insurance agency. The City has plans prepared for a possible festival street, Byers Avenue, which intersects with Main Street in front of this building and a plaza that would be built to connect with the river adjacent to this building.

A development proposal could take advantage of all of these features and more.  For details, download the Request for Proposals (RFP) document:  “Pendleton RFP," attached below and at the RFP section of this website.
