Jeff Brown named Pendleton Public Works Director

Brown will replace Bob Patterson after his retirement

Jeff Brown has been named the new Public Works Director for the City of Pendleton. He will take over the leadership position on July 1.

Jeff Brown

Currently the Public Works Assistant Director, Brown first came to the City of Pendleton on Jan. 4, 1993, as a utility worker. He worked his way up the ranks and served as Public Works Superintendent in 2003, a position he held until last year when he became the Assistant Director for Public Works.

“Jeff has spent his whole career here with the City of Pendleton, and he has proven himself to be a go-to person,” City Manager Robb Corbett said. “During his time with the City, he has proven his love and dedication for this town, and I cannot picture a better person for this role.”

Born and raised in Pendleton, Brown said he works in Public Works because there is a new challenge every day. Brown takes over as the Public Works Director on July 1, filling the role left by outgoing director Bob Patterson.

“I am excited to take on this new challenge. I want to see Pendleton flourish,” Brown said. “I would also like to say ‘thank you’ to Bob for his years of leadership in the department. I hope to carry on the position and see the projects outlined in the Master Plans continued.”

Patterson is retiring at the end of June after 21 years as the Public Works Director. Patterson first started with the City of Pendleton as a regulatory specialist in 1994. Patterson’s last day with the City of Pendleton is Friday, June 28.  In his retirement, Patterson plans to move to Australia.
