Christian Science Building Survey

Christian Science Building

The Bisnett family of Pendleton recently donated the building at 13 SW Byers Ave., to the City of Pendleton. Built in 1926, the unique building on the Umatilla River and Main Street that was once a church for the Christian Scientists. This building is adjacent to SW Byers Avenue, which in the past was included in a design for an event plaza, part of a larger plan to connect downtown Pendleton to the Umatilla River.

The City is seeking public input on the future of this building.

The Christian Science Building could be developed on its own or as part of a larger project. That design, named the Byers Riverfront Plaza, was one of several projects created in a plan to increase public access to the Umatilla River. The design provides access to the river bank. The plaza would be available for public events. Which do you prefer?
